:: Children for children :: Loes van der Sterren, clustermanager at Kinderopvang 't Nest, is a former trainee from Anak Bangsa. She has warm memories from her time at our foundation and already came back 2 years ago. She was touched by everything that happend in Lombok during the earthquakes and in particular the damage our foundation got from the quakes, that she decided to do something for us. Together with her employer, colleagues, the children from the childcare center and their parents they organized all kinds of activities to raise money. It was a big succes and they can definitly be proud of the result. Kinderopvang 't Nest raised € 1000,- for Anak Bangsa Foundation! A big thanks to Loes, her colleagues and of course all the children who worked hard to collect this wonderful amount of money for our children! ... See more

Teaching the students about cleanliness is very important to us. Indonesia is a beautiful country but the sad side of it is that the local people aren't aware of the damage they do by throwing their rubbish every where they can, they even burn it! Educate the new generation how to take care good of their environment is where it all starts. The government often praise our school for being very clean and tidy. Let's keep up the good work ???? ... See more
Yesterday, our founder(s), director and headmaster of SMK Anak Bangsa had a meeting with all parents of our first grade students. This meeting is always important because beside education the children we have to have a good collaboration with their parents. It's to make sure the parents know about the obligations of students at our school, how to motivate and educate their children, last but not least and maybe one of the most important topics to discuss - prevent child marriage! The parents are reminded of the importance of education to create a good future for their children. ... See more

Yesterday it was a national holiday in Indonesia, but our team didn't take a day off. Instead we went out to deliver over 200 aid packages to 4 different villages which were effected by the earthquakes. As we spoke to the people there, it became clear that they didn't got much help from the government until now, they were very happy with our visit and foodpackages. Even that is far from enough, but they are very grateful! We saw so many broken and totally destroyed houses. So many small children in these villages, sleeping in tents which won't protect them from the upcoming rainseason and all the insects/mosquito's attacking them at night. It's truly heartbreaking to see the people living in these conditions ???? But we are happy we can provide a little bit of help to many of them and this is all possible because of you kind hearted people donated to us for them! Big thanks to all of you!! ... See more
